and another two-a-day

July 24, 2009
For our first run today, we traveled to Penetenrety Glen (where the time trials race is held) and ran that course twice. It was a good run, and i think i actually know the whole course on my own now.  The first lap felt pretty easy, and so did the second, but at the end zack sweet (euclid alumni who's been running with us since monday) and i sped up to around 5:15 pace and drasticly picked it up on the final uphill.  Noone else seemed to try to stay with us, which i understand i just wanted to speed up a little bit.

Our second run was at night from Bill's house.  The pace consistently was being pushed to around 7:15 or 7 flat, which made my legs and bills legs ache from the high mileage we've been putting in this summer, so the last mile (this run was 8.7 miles) we just let them take off.  When we were about 200 yards away from bills house he told me and kyle to walk the rest with him as a mini cooldown.  It was a nice run, i hope the 16 tomorrow won't suck too bad.  Even if it dies, itwon't be as bad as ben getting his wisdom teeh pulled tomorrow lololol.

13 miler lol

July 22, 2009
Today we (Me Bill ben tyler mike harris blevins kendig dan alex jared matt and kyle) "winged it" and just ran wherever we wanted to.  Finally my stomach didn't hurt, the first run since saturday.  We ran all the way down the train tracks to reynolds road and just winded through backyards and the backs of stores all the way to plains, then we just ran the half mile path into the back of veterans.  The last 5 or 6 miles we were at or under 7 flat pace, and it felt good.

stomach fail

July 22, 2009
These last few days i haven't updatedmy runningblog here very much because i was more concerned about the well being of my stomach which had ben hurting a lot.  On sunday i ran the johnnycake jog and my stomach hurt quite a bit during the race and i ran 28:38, not horrible but nowhere near what i'm capable of.  Then the next day i ran 16.11 miles (our first run that was actually 16 miles, even over).  The whole run my stomach hurt really bad, but towards the end, maybe the last 4-5 miles or s...

3 mile easy run

July 19, 2009
Ran a really easy 3 miler on my own.  At first my legs were heavy, but they quickly began to feel great.  I feel as though is the race was today I'd have done well, so i think ill do really well tomorrow with a bit more recovery.

today's run...AND MORE!

July 17, 2009
Today's run was an easy 10 miler.  We ran with a big group, so i don't feel like thinking of each person.  At the beginning my legs felt a bit heavy, and my legs leg was a bit swollen feeling / numb.  Eventually that went away.  As the run progressed, a run in which we made up the route as we went along, my legs felt lighter and lighter, and in the end we (me ben ryan and harris) were going pretty fast, and jokingly mimicing ryan's god-like long stride.

You may be wondering why i said AND MORE...

hell's hollow

July 17, 2009
Today's (July 16) run was quite eventful and painful.  We ran from hell's hollow, and pretty much weren't doing much but skipping rocks and making bridges accross the river out of rocks.  It wasreally fun though. Eventually, there was a point where i was really far ahead of everyone trying to cross the river, and i slipped on a large rock and my full bodyweight landed right on the bone in my left thigh, and that hurt really bad.  I had to limp up 260 stairs and close to a half mile back to ou...

another 16 miler

July 16, 2009
Today we ran the same 16 mile course as we have been.  At first, i felt really physically tired and mentally tired from running less than 12 hours ago.  The first 3 or so miles were just me in a sort of dase not really focusing on anything besides how much I would probably struggle with the run. I even had to turn off the setting on my watch that tells me our pace and distance because i couldn't stop looking at it and dreading the run.  Eventually we turned onto Jackson, and the run was silen...

another two-a-day

July 15, 2009
Ourfirst run this morning was really easy, we went to the Perry YMCA to run the old around the old Districts course. about a mile and a half in we were at the bottom of a monster hill and we stopped to skip rocks for like 10 minutes which was really fun.  I think im really getting better at hills, cuz when we started to go up the really long hill ben and i jokingly sprinted for half of it, only to realize it was taller than we thought, but other than my breathing (which really doesn't matter ...

winging it

July 15, 2009
Today (July 13, had to post it a day late) we ran 12.27 miles.  Unlike we normally do in the summer, we just ran anywhere and knew we'd go some distance between about 11 and 13, which is really nice.  I felt really good the whole time, and Jared surprisingly kept up when some of the other expected varsity members fell back.  He even talked to us towards the end about what he thought he could do these upcoming cross country and track seasons.  At the end i looked at my watch and we were going ...

HUMID!

July 11, 2009
Ran by myself today from my house.  I just ran as slow as i felt i needed to and i needed 3.5 miles to get 63 for the week.  It was really really humid today though and since i don't take my inhaler for super short runs that made the run miserable.  Good thing it was only an easy recovery day or i probably would have died lololol.  I started out at like 9:30 pace and finished at 6:30 pace so i guess i felt better the longer i ran.
